Porcelain Crowns and Veneers in Batıkent, Ankara

At our clinic in Batıkent, Ankara, porcelain crowns and veneers are frequently applied for our patients. These restorations are used in cases such as teeth with large fillings, root canal-treated teeth, teeth prone to fracture, recurring lost fillings, and missing teeth. Crowns and veneers can be produced from various materials and are custom-made in a laboratory after a precise digital scan of the patient’s mouth. This means we don’t use the older, putty-like silicone-based materials for impressions.

Porcelain crowns can be applied to a single tooth, or multiple teeth can be restored with porcelain bridges. So, while a single tooth can receive a porcelain crown, missing teeth can also be replaced with a bridge system, involving three, four, five, or more porcelain teeth.

Porcelain restorations are materials that aim to mimic the morphology of natural teeth, with color selection chosen to match the natural dentition as closely as possible, completing both aesthetics and function.

Porcelain crowns and veneers can also be utilized for smile design. They can address missing teeth or fractured teeth. When patients are unhappy with the length or other aesthetic aspects of their teeth, porcelain crowns and veneers offer a valuable treatment alternative that we provide in Batıkent, Ankara.

To create porcelain crowns or veneers, we first need to prepare the teeth by carefully shaping them. This creates space for the porcelain to sit properly. This procedure is done in the mouth with local anesthesia. After the precise tooth preparation, we take an impression of your mouth. As we mentioned before, we now do this digitally with an intraoral scanner, also known as CAD/CAM technology.

After preparing your teeth, we place temporary restorations on the same day, especially if they’re in the front of your mouth. This helps maintain your aesthetics and comfort, allowing you to continue your daily life without any noticeable gaps or changes. These temporary teeth are also crucial for preventing or reducing hot and cold sensitivity after tooth preparation, especially when the tooth is still vital.

A few days after the porcelain production begins, we’ll schedule try-in appointments to check the fit and harmony with your mouth. During these try-ins, we work closely with you to make any necessary adjustments to the shape, color, length, and size of the porcelain restorations based on your preferences. Once you’re happy with how they look, the final adjustments are made, the color is confirmed, and the restoration is completed. All that’s left then is the final bonding, or cementation.

After you’ve approved the final look of your teeth, the restorations are permanently bonded in place. You’ll then be ready to enjoy your new, fixed smile, and we’ll look forward to seeing you for your annual check-ups at our clinic.

In the final session, the tooth is bonded, allowing the patient to use it in their daily life.

Approximately one week after the cementation of the prosthesis (the crown or veneer), the patient is called back for a check-up. During this visit, we adjust any early contacts, check for remaining cement and gum irritation, and ensure the bite is correct. This concludes the treatment.
