Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

At our clinic in Batıkent, Ankara, we offer a full range of oral and maxillofacial surgical treatments.

Firstly, there’s tooth extraction. This becomes necessary when teeth cannot be saved due to extensive decay or fractures.

Then, there are implants: these are artificial tooth roots placed into the jawbone to serve as a replacement for one or more missing teeth. In years past, the implant process was often lengthy, painful, and involved significant discomfort. Today, thanks to advancements in technology, the procedure is greatly simplified, takes much less time, and involves minimal pain and complications.

When multiple implants are needed, we use a method called Guided Surgery. Before even touching the patient, we take a tomography (3D scan) and combine it with digital systems to precisely determine where and at what angle each implant will be placed. This method also allows us to pre-select the ideal implant length and diameter based on the patient’s jawbone. For example, six implants can be placed in an upper jaw in as little as half an hour. This reduction in procedure time ensures patients experience minimum pain, swelling, and complications. This method is far more advantageous than traditional surgical techniques, benefiting both the patient and the dentist immensely. With Guided Surgery, patients who previously feared implant procedures can now have those fears completely alleviated.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Ankara Batıkent

At our clinic in Batıkent, Ankara, we perform a comprehensive range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures to ensure your dental health and comfort.

Wisdom Teeth Extractions

Impacted or partially erupted wisdom teeth can lead to numerous complications like abscesses and severe pain. After a thorough examination using panoramic X-rays and 3D tomographic (CBCT) scans, we can comfortably extract wisdom teeth at our clinic. Post-procedure, we provide necessary antibiotics, painkillers, instructions for ice application, and anti-inflammatory medications. These measures significantly minimize discomfort and swelling after the operation.

Closed Sinus Lift Surgery

For patients who want dental implants but cannot get them due to sinus sagging or insufficient bone in the upper jaw, we utilize a technique called Closed Sinus Lift Surgery. After preparing the implant site, we use a special internal method to gently lift the bone at the base of the prepared socket upwards. This effectively increases the bone volume within the socket, making it possible to place an implant in an area where the bone was initially too short. Traditionally, open sinus surgery would be performed in such cases, but we are now moving away from these older methods towards easier, more patient-friendly surgical techniques in dentistry.

All-on-4 Treatment Concept

The All-on-4 treatment method is designed for patients with severe bone deficiency in one arch, where we can’t find enough bone to place six conventional implants. In this innovative approach, instead of six straight implants, we use four angled and longer implants. These four implants are strategically positioned, with two in the front and two in the back at specific angles, to support a full set of teeth for the entire arch. The primary goal of this treatment is to provide the patient with a fixed prosthesis. By applying porcelain crown derivatives, all missing teeth are replaced, restoring both aesthetics and function. This is not a particularly difficult treatment method for the patient and doesn’t differ significantly from other implant treatments. However, it requires a detailed tomographic scan and meticulous pre-treatment planning.

It’s also important to note that for All-on-4 and other implant-supported prostheses, we prefer screw-retained systems over cemented ones. Scientific research consistently shows that screw-retained prostheses have a higher success rate and are generally more favorable than cemented options.

All these procedures are performed at our practice in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Ankara Batıkent.
